Home State

National Geographic asked all 100 US Senators to draw their home state. While only 12 have submitted their drawings so far, they are all really cute – check out Wyoming.

This request prompted my to ponder, “Can I draw my home state?”
Here is my attempt…

Don’t you love my use of color??

Happy 40th Birthday

BirthdayLP

Big Bird – Bert – Ernie – Oscar – Count – Grover – Cookie Monster!

That’s all I can remember right now. But I do remember my first celebrity/Sesame Street sighting…

I was in kindergarten and, J’s dad had a friend that worked on Sesame Street. So…J got to make a guest appearance on the show. We all sat on the reading rug in the library and watched our friend, J, on Sesame Street. His first day back at school marked my first celebrity encounter.

Confession

So…I have a HUGE confession to make. After the past two weeks of GG and a lot of self discovery, I think my love interest might be shifting. It’s true, it’s true, I might be proclaiming for the first time that dear old Chuck is over. While his half-smile while mini-spooning Blair was adorable, I’m totally not into this holier-than-though bullshit.

So I open the polls.

Do I convert to the boring story line (what, what, m-fire), with the growing-on-me classic cuteness?

gs_chace_crawford_080729_m

The really annoying facial movement, but oh-so-dreamy new haircut (this image does him no justice…I swear he is looking better and better on that little screen every Monday night. And, I think he’s getting beefier).

Actor Penn Badgley attends the Entertainment Weekly & Vavoom Annual Upfront Party at the Bowery Hotel on May 13, 2008 in New York City.

Or stick with a tried and true (and, while Derkins here might enjoy the tats, I’m totally not into them. Feather? I just don’t get it).

Ready…set…vote. Really, I do need some serious guidance, I’m totally torn.

P.S. Great move on the part of the GG to pair the only two good actresses. Two thumbs up for a season full of Blair and Georgina!

My Vibrators

I now have a vibrating toothbrush…
pulsar

And vibrating mascara…1000222_l
Hmmm, pattern?

(FYI, both are really cool. The toothbrush might take a little getting used to but I do love my clean teeth!)

YAY

The universe has a way of turning things around. I’m walking out of dinner last night, bummed, not wanting to wish for things, cause what you wish for comes true. And there, lying in my path was a small (well, actually fairly large) beacon of light.

A ten dollar bill. That’s right, Hamilton himself. A rather crumpled, grimy looking treasure, but it was all!

I accept congratulations in the form of comments.

I then promptly spend more than my findings at Whole Foods on sliced turkey and sprouts. Hmmmmm

(Insert Giants Fight Song Here)

Going to my first football game ever, tonight. I’m very excited. I don’t even know what to eat. Is it hot-dogs and cracker-jacks? Burgers and chicken wings? Or just beer and no food??

The “Rooo” is coming along for the fun. I’ll encourage her to do some real time posting (as that is clearly not my forte).

And this is for you…

While this was in the Times a couple days ago, I just stumbled across it today.

Polyvore is like a hybrid fashion magazine/clothing store. The fun thing is anyone can be its editor.

Polyvore

A user imports pictures to the site (anything from champagne to shoes) to make a collage of their look. All (or I should say, most) of the images link to an external site where you can buy the clothing or accessory or food.

I’m totally into the concept of buying a “look” and not just a skirt or belt.

Bzzzzzzzzzzz

Yesterday was my roommate’s Meet My Bees party. That’s right. She has gotten intertwined with the NYC’s “legalize bees movement” and has started her own hive (not in NYC, but still… CRAZY). We all took a little trip up the Hudson River, had a picnic and then tracked over to her parents place to meet the bees.

Now… I did take a beekeeping class in college, but I never actually went to the hives. I learned a lot on Sunday.

Step 1: Prepare yourself

Step 2: Smoke those suckers silly

Step 3: Watch out!

Step 4: Share with your friends…

Step 5: Examine the comb pattern (FYI, this is not a good pattern)

How crazy that I got to hold a bee hive frame! And not one of us got stung. I’m shocked.

Farmer Binz

I’ve joined a CSA, I’m reading Animal, Vegetable or Miracle, and now, I am officially a Williamsburg farmer. My plants are starting to bloom, and I couldn’t be happier. I might actually throw a party when I get my first tomato… Keep your fingers crossed.

My gardenHere is an action shot that Molly took from our living room. Truth be told, I sing to my babies everyday! And it amazes me how much they drink. They look so sad and weepy when they are thirsty…

Blue FlowerAnd, a close-up shot of my blue flowers. I have no idea what these are, but they are soooo blue. Incredible that nature can make colors like this!BasilHere is my lemon basil. This was pre-pizza making, hence the ample leafiness.

And finally… drum roll please…

MY TOMATO FLOWER!!!!

TomtoesI couldn’t get through the grate of the window to take a real picture, so this is a top-down view. Since this image was captured yesterday morning, 3 more flowers have bloomed! Ahhh, so excited to reach out of my kitchen window and eat a tomato off my vine.
