hyannis and food porn

all we did the first day was eat. not to imply that we’ll do more than that tomorrow.

raw clams and oysters up the wazoo.

humongous lobster roll!

baked clam. also humongous.

a week in maine flies by

hotdogs in maine have bright red casing. mainers insist it tastes better but i am not sure if there’s much difference in the taste.

at coveside, feet and beer picture is now tradition.

thanksgiving meal in july. so delicious! (too lazy to flip the picture)

my last morning staring at lobster boats from the window. sigh*

into the wild!

snooty maine nature boy can look down on car camping all he wants but they are just as enjoyable!

however, our hiking and camping in the bold coast was an amazing experience. and thankfully i didn’t have to use a shovel… (you do not want to know what that is for.)

alpacas sold at the gas station?

alas, they were only for display to garner attention for their farm.

jake the dog out-hiked me. shame.

and even carried his own pack! (including 3 bottles of beer)

notice the content in nicky’s bag.

classy camping all the way. baguette, avocado, lox, and brie log. bag o’ wine included.

our beer fridge, the atlantic ocean.

illegal bonfire.

a lot of pie eaten at helen’s.

fourth of july tradition = hotdog eating contest?

the first full day was spent lounging around the house and then having dinner with the family at coveside. heavenly.

next day, went to the landscaping company’s annual fourth of july party. the women’s champion won eating 6 hotdogs in 10min. i’m pretty sure i can beat that. need i say more?

that sheet hanging in the back is a “wall of shame” with a barf bucket behind it.

the women eating at a leisurely pace.

immediately following this picture, the guy in red hat barfed out all his hotdogs.

that hat hardly seems like a reward…

maine & the ll bean mecca

at portland airport waiting for my plane to fly me into lga. happily on airport wifi and figured i’d catch up on some iphone blogging. mostly so i can dump out all the photos i took on the phone. (i’m post-dating it so that it’s logged on the correct days)

after a stupid mishap involving a gate change, missed flight, connecting flight via philly, and delays, i finally arrived in pwm after 8pm. andrew spent all day killing time in portland which i felt really bad about but he seemed to have enjoyed his time well enough. apparently restaurants close fairly early on weeknights so we went to freeport to have bbq. he was aghast to learn i’ve never stepped foot in an ll bean store and said we should go on our way home. at 1030pm? it’s open 24hrs!

was not very good…

poor stuffed deers by the hunting gears…

my ll bean tour guide.

the little boy insisted on having his picture taken as well.

why is there a trout pond in a store??

“the final charge?”

the waiting game

my old iphone 3g’s been failing me lately. just dies on me out of nowhere. so i’m doubly excited about my shiny, new iphone 4 coming my way! and while we wait, let’s look at this cute photoshopped picture of an imagined viral advertising in tokyo subway.

one more week, hoorah!
